The Boone County Democratic Woman’s Club will hold its annual Fall Event on Wednesday evening, September 23, at the Holiday Inn, Airport.
The speaker will be Elizabeth Conway, wife of Jack Conway, Democratic Candidate for Governor.
The club will honor first lady Jane Beshear for her work with the Women’s Crisis Centers in Kentucky. In her honor guests are asked to donate cash or an unwrapped Christmas toy to be given to the Boone County Women’s Shelter in Mrs. Beshear’s name.
The theme for the evening will be Celebrating Women Empowering Women. This is a major, annual fundraiser for the Club.
Cocktails will begin at 6p.m. with a cash bar, and dinner will be served at 7 p.m.; cost is $45. There will be opportunities to win gift baskets by purchasing raffle tickets.
