Joshua Clemence, a student veteran at Gateway Community and Technical College and eleven students from the Kentucky Community and Technical College System will be honored at the second annual Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Sept. 26 at the Frankfort Convention Center in Frankfort.
The KVHOF was established to honor Kentucky military veterans and to educate others of their outstanding accomplishments.
“We applaud and congratulate the student veterans being honored at this event,” said KCTCS Director of Veterans Affairs Gwen Hacker. “KCTCS provides both on and off-campus resources to the more than 4,300 student veterans enrolled in our 16 colleges.”
The KCTCS veteran students to be recognized and honored at the induction ceremony include:
• Joshua Clemence, Gateway Community and Technical College;
• Delbert Hunter, Bluegrass Community and Technical College;
• John T. Kimpston, Ashland Community and Technical College;
• Joseph Johnson, Hazard Community and Technical College;
• Lee Adamson, Henderson Community College;
• Gary Klemm, Hopkinsville Community College;
• Jennifer Crone, Jefferson Community and Technical College;
• Daniel Jones, Maysville Community and Technical College;
• Justin Yazza, Somerset Community College;
• Justin Potter, Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College:
• Rutland Vaughn Melton, Sr., Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College; and
• Nicholas Jagielo, West Kentucky Community and Technical College.
Students were nominated by an individual at their college.
Twenty-five Kentucky military veterans will be inducted into the KVHOF Hall of Fame this year. They each will be awarded the Hall of Fame Medallion, recognizing their military service to our nation and to the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The inductees were selected for their valorous military service, as well as their combined military/civilian service to their community, state and nation.
