Legacy Leadership hosting YP Unite Summit, new conference for young professionals around region

As part of a new conference for Northern Kentucky, young professionals from the Tri State and as far as Pittsburgh will convene at Covington’s Metropolitan Club for the YP United Summit on Sept. 25-26, where they will attend professional development seminars and share best practices for growing and engaging young talent.

Legacy Leadership is a Northern Kentucky-based but very much regionally active organization dedicated to cultivating young professionals. To celebrate its 15th year, the organization has taken on the successful YP Unite Summit from Louisville’s YPAL (Young Professionals Association of Louisville), and expects 150 or more participants. The event is open to young professionals looking to grow their network and develop core skills sets that apply throughout the public, private, and social sectors. The summit kicks off on Friday, September 25, with a private viewing area and stadium seats at the evening Cincinnati Reds vs. New York Mets game, followed by an all-day workshop and closing social event on Saturday.

“The YP scene is very active, very strong right now,” Legacy President Brent Boden says. “The fact that Greater Cincinnati is hosting this event is indicative of the reputation we have for energetic, high-quality professionals who are ready to keep pushing this region forward. We’re already poised for success – it’s a matter of maintaining the momentum.”

Unite Summit keynote co-presenter and Tom + Chee co-founder Trew Quackenbush adds, “Cincinnati is a hotbed for self-starters and leaders. From technology to restaurants, we’re seeing startups prosper here. There’s a reason that more than one of our local startups (Tom+Chee, plus Frameri) has been featured on Shark Tank.”

In addition to keynote presentations, attendees will gain insight into successful event planning, member recruitment across industries, effective networking, diversity, entrepreneurship, and more. Other guests include Northern Kentucky University President Geoff Mearns, Agenda 360 Executive Director and Cincinnati Chamber Vice President of Regional Initiatives Mary Stagaman, and other regional expert leaders.

Legacy is celebrating its 15th year, having been established by Forward Quest (recently reintroduced as Skyward) on January 1, 2000. Staying true to course, Legacy was created to provide a forum to offer the next generation of leaders the support and development needed to be successful in their careers and personal life while contributing positively to the region.
