Northern Kentucky athletics department adds Hays, Ford to marketing, sales staff

Northern Kentucky University has announced the addition of Brandon Hays and Micki Ford to the athletic department staff.

Hays joins the Norse as Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing, Promotions and Tickets and Ford will serve as the athletic department’s Ticket Sales Assistant.

“It’s a pleasure to announce Brandon and Micki as the newest members of Norse Nation,” said Dan McIver, senior associate athletic director for business and finance. “They both bring a wealth of experience and energy to their respective roles and will help elevate the profile of NKU Athletics.”

Hays will be responsible for overseeing the marketing and promotion of NKU’s 17 NCAA Division I athletics programs, while also supervising the ticketing efforts for Norse men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball and men’s and women’s soccer.

A current resident of Lebanon, Ohio, Hays comes to Northern Kentucky following a three-year stint as Sales Manager/Assistant Director of Marketing and Promotions at Wright State University, a fellow member of the Horizon League. Prior to his time at WSU, Hays was the Director of Marketing at Memphis for three years.

“NKU is an exciting place to be, with an incredible amount of potential, both within the athletic department and on campus,” commented Hays. “I’m thankful for the opportunity to join a culture of growth and ambition, and to share our story with our fans. I can’t wait to join NKU’s Uprising and connect with our students, alumni, and the community.”

Ford also joins NKU after working at Wright State, where she served as the Account Executive, Ticket Sales and Service for nearly three years. Her experience includes the development, coordination and execution of ticket plans for season tickets, mini-plans and group ticket sales for the Raider’s men’s basketball program.

Ford also has ticketing experience with Penn State, Xavier and Eastern Kentucky, as well as in professional sports with the Nashville Predators, Cincinnati Cyclones and Cincinnati Bengals.

“I would like to thank [Director of Athletics] Ken [Bothof] and Dan for this opportunity,” stated Ford. “As a native to the area, it’s great to see NKU Athletics on the rise, and I am looking forward to building strong relationships with Norse fans.”

Hays will assume his role as the assistant athletic director on Sept. 8, while Ford will join the athletics department on Sept. 14.
