Johnny’s Car Wash is 50 years old
Jeff Simpson, President and Owner of Johnny’s Car Wash in Erlanger, was recognized during the Erlanger City Council meeting on Monday, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Johnny’s Car Wash.
Erlanger Mayor Tyson Hermes presented Mr. Simpson with a plaque recognizing the company’s 50 years of operation in the City of Erlanger, Kentucky.
Johnny’s Car wash was founded by Jeff Simpson’s father, Johnny Simpson, and has been a family operated and owned company since 1958. The Erlanger location opened in 1965.
“Receiving this recognition from the City of Erlanger is such a wonderful honor” stated Jeff Simpson. “The Simpson family found a home for our business in the City of Erlanger 50 years ago and has always appreciated the benefits “The Friendship City” has consistently offered to our family.”
Honoring a volunteer at Kelly Elementary
Kelly Elementary volunteer JoAnn Harvey was recognized as a winning caregiver during National Caregivers Month by the AARP. As a state winner she received a “Portrait of Care,” an artist’s rendering of Ms. Harvey and her husband. She cared for her husband for 30 years until his death.
The school decided to use the occasion to also thank Mrs. Harvey for her volunteer services at the school. She was presented a Volunteer Services certificate.
Eric Smith named director of information and technology
Campbellsville University has named Eric Smith director of information technology.
Smith worked as director of information technology at Sun Trust Bank from 2009 until coming to Campbellsville University. He has also held many other leadership positions such as mainframe manager, project manager, and conversion lead tech.
“The team has been great to work with during the transition,” Smith said.
Smith earned his undergraduate in mathematics from the University of Arkansas in 1998. In 2004, he received his Master’s of Business Administration from Winegate University.
Eric and his wife, Jennifer Smith, have three children: Tyler, Wyatt and Tessa.
