BB&T Bank’s generous donation of $200,000 has propelled Thomas More College past the halfway mark in their goal of raising $4 million for the Thomas More College Success Center. The gift was formally presented to TMC President David A. Armstrong, J.D. during the halftime ceremony of TMC’s women’s basketball game on Saturday, February 20.
The TMC Success Center will be a one-stop center for student success from the moment a student steps on campus their first year to post-graduation, with a focus on academic, tutoring and career services support.
“Student success means having a great experience while learning about one’s self and the world, helping others and getting ready for the future,” said Dr. John Ernst, Director of the Success Center. “BB&T’s generous gift brings us one step closer to providing these quality services that are critical to our students’ future success.”
Thanks to an anonymous donor who has pledged to match TMC Success Center gifts up to $4 million, BB&T’s gift brings the balance remaining to meet that goal to $1,711,566.
