NKyTribune staff report
Angie Gillespie of Independence is just a few hundred votes from winning $30,000 dollars and having her jingle featured in an ad for JG Wentworth.

JG Wentworth, a cash settlement company, is holding a “Shot at the Spot” contest to find its next jingle. Contestants had to write and sing their version of the classic “877-cash now” jingle and enter a video.
Gillespie is a voice actor and hopes her win will open the door for a national career in jingle writing and singing.

This is Gillespie’s third national contest entry and could be her third win.
In 2014 she took first place in a Safe Auto Insurance jingle contest with more than 400,000 votes (most from tristate voters), and acted in their commercial airing this month. She also won second place in a jingle contest for Schwebel’s Bread last year.
After forty hours of writing, editing and filming, her video is now in the hands of voters. She is once again counting on support from local voters to put her over the top.
