The man entered the Holiday Inn Express located at 12982 Frogtown Connector Road at approximately 12:10 a.m. demanding money and threatening bodily injury (no weapon displayed).  Later that morning at approximately 6:30 a.m. he robbed the Waffle House located 11213 Frontage Road using the same modus operandi.

An employee followed him as he left that robbery providing first responders a description, direction of travel, and license plate number of the vehicle.  He fled when police tried to stop him reaching dangerous speeds as he approached a school zone and crowded rush-hour intersections so we abandoned the pursuit.

Detectives worked all day first identifying him as Lefon Edwards, 28 of Cincinnati, Ohio and then locating him in Cincinnati where he was served with an arrest warrant out of Indiana and lodged in the Hamilton County Jail.

There, he confessed to the Richwood robberies and provided information concerning one in Florence and one in Carrollton, Kentucky.

Edwards has been charged with two counts of Robbery 2nd degree.  Additional traffic charges will be forthcoming.
