“The section from Ripple Creek Road extending north to the intersection of I-471 and Sunset Drive will be repaired to provide smoother and safer ride for all those who travel along US 27,” said Rob Hans, Chief District Engineer for Department of Highways District 6.

The first project will take place between Bunning Drive and Ripple Creek heading southbound. Lane closures may be in place during non-peak hours.

During the peak rush hours between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., two-lanes will be open in each direction. This section will be completed by Friday, April 22.

The second section will be performed at the intersection with KY 2345 (Martha Lane Collins Boulevard). Traffic will be shifted through the intersection around the work area starting Friday, April 22. All lanes will be re-opened by 6 a.m. on Monday, April 25. The other four sections will be announced at a later date.

Crews anticipate completing all pavement replacement by the Memorial Day weekend. The overall completion date is set for Nov. 1.

Fox Enterprises of Richmond was awarded the low-bid contract of $1.072 million for this project.
