Thomas More’s Laumann earns All-America recognition from Baseball Coaches Association


Thomas More College sophomore second baseman Ben Laumann (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) has been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-America Teams.

Laumann was named to the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-America Third Team.

Earlier this week, he was named first team All-Mideast by the ABCA and second team All-Mideast by D3baseball.com. Laumann was a first team All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) last week by the conference’s nine head coaches.

Laumann batted .394 as he was 61-for-155 at the plate with five home runs, 16 doubles, one triple, 60 runs scored and 48 runs batted-in. He also had a .606 slugging percentage and a .490 on-base percentage as he was walked 26 times and reached base seven times via a hit-by-pitch.

Laumann was a perfect 19-for-19 in stolen base attempts, while also completing 18 double plays at second base.

Laumann and the Saints went 31-12 this season, while winning the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) regular season and championship tournament title.

The Saints appeared in their seventh NCAA Division III Championship tournament, including their fifth in the last seven years. The team finished regional semifinalists for the fifth-straight appearances in the tournament.
