Clean up! Ohio River Sweep needs volunteers for June 18 united effort to pick up riverbank trash

Keep Covington Beautiful is participating in the annual Ohio River Sweep on Saturday June 18th — and is looking for volunteers.

Last year 17,000 people converged to clean litter from the banks of the Ohio River from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Cairo, Illinois.

Keep Covington Beautiful is leading the only sites in Northern Kentucky.

There are three sites to choose from!

Work from 9 a.m. to noon and get a light breakfast, pizza for lunch, and tools.

End of Greenup Street & Riverside Drive
Meet: under the Roebling Suspension Bridge
When: 9 a.m. to noon, registration opening at 8:30.
Work Area: Riverbank from Licking River to Madison Avenue turnabout.

Licking River Greenway Trails
Meet: E16th dead ends at Licking River.
When: 9 a.m. to noon, registration opening at 8:30.
Work Area: Bottom of flood wall to River – Invasive plant and litter cleanup.

14 Pete Rose Pier, Covington
Meet: Old Waterfront Restaurant site.
When: 9 a.m. to noon, registration opening at 8:30.
Work Area: Bottom of flood wall to Riverbank
