NKY Chamber annual dinner on Sept. 15 will honor banker Tom Tilmes with Pieschel (MVP) Award


The Northern Kentucky Chamber annual dinner will be held Sept. 15 at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center.

The event will start with networking at 5 p.m. and a dinner and awards program at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $95 a person and tables of 10 are $950.

The following awards will be give: Walter R. Dunlevey Frontiersman Award, the Unity Award, the ImageMaker Award, the Devou Cup, the Skyward Salutes Award and the Walter L. Pieschell (MVP) Award.

The MVP award will go to Tom Tilmes, vice president of Republic Bank.The award is named in memory of the NKY Chamber’s first volunteer leader and recognizes an individual Chamber member who has provided outstanding volunteer service to the Chamber as a committee member, committee chair, or in any other special capacity during the past 12 months.

 In his role as a Senior Business Banking Officer, he assists business professionals with all of their banking needs using the wealth of knowledge he has gained from more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry. 
 
As a native to the tri-state area, Tom graduated from the University of Cincinnati before beginning his long career in finance.  That hometown experience and pride is a driver that reinforces Tom’s passion to invest back into this community.  With the support and encouragement of Republic Bank, Tom’s involvement includes his volunteer work with the Northern Kentucky Chamber.
 
At the Chamber, Tom is Chair of the Eggs ‘N Issues Committee where he has recruited and involved other Chamber members to help develop the programs that speak to today’s business community.  Those efforts are paying off with greater interest in the programs and attendance at the events.  In addition, he has been involved with the Chamber Champions 100 program, the Chamber Taskforce, and other programs dating back as far as 1993.
 
Tilmes’ other volunteer activities include serving on the Board of the Covington Business Council (CBC) where he has agreed to head the CBC Membership Committee, and has started a relationship-building group called CBC Connects.  Those efforts have contributed greatly to the significant growth of membership at the CBC. 

He is also involved with include the St. Elizabeth Foundation’s Business Support Committee, the Advisory Committee to the Economics and Finance Department at Northern Kentucky University and others.
