When the Saints take on Bethany for the final home football game of the regular season the action won’t be just confined to the field — it’ll be in the parking lot, the sky, and all points in between. Proving there’s something for everyone at Thomas More College, events will be held for students wrapping up their college experience and for those looking to start it.

Preview Day
The day begins at 10 A.M. with a Preview Day for prospective students. Students considering attending Thomas More College and their families are welcome to come to campus to meet TMC faculty, staff, and current students to get answers to all of their college questions. Preview Day, which will be held in the Saints Center, features campus tours, plus presentations on academics, admissions and financial aid. Prospective students wishing to attend Preview Day should call (859)344-3332.

Senior Day and Scholarship Announcement
At approximately 11:20 the Senior Day festivities begin. Thirty-six senior members of the football team, marching band, and cheerleading squad will be honored prior to the start of the game. At the conclusion of the Senior Day ceremony, the Mitchell Kramer Memorial Scholarship Fund will be announced. The scholarship has been established in honor of TMC football player Mitch Kramer who was tragically killed in an ATV accident last year. The scholarship will provide financial assistance to an incoming freshman from Campbell County High School.

Chili Cook-off
Prior to the noon kickoff, the Alpha Delta Gamma fraternity will host their 4th annual chili cook-off. There’ll be prizes for winners in different categories, and free samples will be given to fans. The chili cook-off will be held in the tailgate parking lot.

Saints Walk
An opportunity for great pictures takes place around 11:40 with the Saints Walk. During this tradition the coaches, football team, marching band and cheerleaders walk through the tailgate parking lot on their way to the field where fans are lined up to cheer them on. Have your cameras ready!

Parachute Jump
Turn your eyes to the skies at 11:50, as the TMC choir sings the National Anthem, a parachutist from Team Fastrax will jump from a plane above BB&T Field to deliver a 2500 square foot America flag to the field below.

Coin Toss
Members of the Duke Energy Foundation will be honorary team captains. Chuck Allen, the Director of Compliance and Performance Support, Casey Ruschman the Foundation Manager, and Chuck Session, the Vice President for Government and Community Affairs, will join TMC football captains at mid-field for the coin toss.

Kick Off
Thomas More College, ranked No. 13 in the nation, hosts Bethany College on Senior Day at BB&T Field. The Saints’ senior class has a four-year record of 35-5 and has won at least a share of three Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) championships.   Since play began on our home field in 2008 the Saints have a 43-2 home record.  Thomas More’s only losses on BB&T Field are by a combined margin of five points.

Halftime Check Presentation
Representatives from Duke (names mentioned above in “coin toss”) will be on hand at half time to present a check for $50,000 dollars to TMC first lady Leslie Armstrong, TMC Board Chair Melissa Lueke, and Dr. Chris Lorentz, Director of the TMC Biology Field Station. This leadership gift will be used to launch the 2017 year-long 50th anniversary celebration of the Biology Field Station. The funds will specifically target the ongoing water quality research for undergraduates and related STEM Outreach programs for K-12 schools. See NKyTribune’s story about this grant here.

Halftime Band Performance
The Thomas More Marching Saints, approaching 100 members strong, will be putting on their final performance of the regular season. Rock and Roll through the Ages is approximately an 11 minute performance and will feature songs such as “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay and “Renegade” by Styx.
