TMC’s Dave Armstrong gets ‘Golden Eagle’ for most inspiring speaker during president’s week in Penn.

College and University Presidents receive a great many awards and accolades, but none more prestigious than those which signify the respect of young people.

President David A. Armstrong, J.D. received such an award after participating in the third annual College and University Presidents Week at Kennedy Catholic High School in Hermitage, Pennsylvania.

The Golden Eagle award for the Most Inspirational Speaker was given to President Armstrong after being voted upon by students and teachers.

“He was the most ‘real’ and motivating speaker we’ve ever had at Kennedy Catholic,” said one student.

Over the past three years, fifteen College and University Presidents have taken part in this annual event at Kennedy Catholic High School speaking on a variety of inspirational topics.

The first recipient of the Golden Eagle award was Jim Tressell, President of Youngstown State University and former Ohio State University Head Football Coach.

“This event at Kennedy Catholic is unlike any other leadership program in the United States,” said President Armstrong.

“What they are doing is innovative and inspirational for their students and acts as a model for other high schools as a way to engage their students with speakers who can make a positive impact in their lives,” he continued.

President Armstrong was the unanimous winner of this year’s Golden Eagle award. He will hold the award for one year before returning it to Kennedy Catholic High School for next year’s recipient.
