NKY Sierra Club will meet April 24 to hear about ‘driving on sunshine;’ new members welcome


The Northern Kentucky Group of the Sierra Club has monthly informative meetings and offers an annual program of hiking, backpacking, bicycling, canoeing and service outings.

Everyone is welcome to any of the club’s meetings. Join to help protect the environment and have fun at the same time!

The next meeting date is Monday, April 24, 6:30-8 p.m. at Mokka and the Sunset Bar and Grill, 500 Monmouth St, Newport

Special guest speaker and NKY Sierra Club member, Melissa Lucas, will present an entertaining and informative account of driving on sunshine, She purchased an electric vehicle in January 2016, followed shortly by installation of rooftop solar panels. She will share her adventure “driving on sunshine” after her first year.

Order dinner at 6:30, meeting begins at 7 p.m.

The Northern Kentucky group is one of the groups that make up the Cumberland Chapter, Kentucky’s presence in the Sierra Club.

It consists of members who reside in Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Fleming, Gallatin, Grant, Harrison, Kenton, Mason, Pendleton and Robertson counties.
