The 2017 Business Excellence Awards recipients were nominated as finalists in eight different categories from among over 130 nominations received in a public nomination process held from February 8 to March 20, 2017.
Business Assistance Specialist & Project Manager Suzann Gettys stated, “We were extremely enthused with the level of public participation and interest from the business community this year, far exceeding the total number of nominations and RSVPs received than in years prior.
“It is an active and engaged business community, and a terrific group of people leading these businesses. It’s a pleasure to get to work with them. As we continue to do outreach through our Business Retention and Expansion Program, we discover many businesses poised for growth and on the path for potentially adding jobs and continued expansion here in Covington.”
Businesses that have been in existence for 100-plus years and 50-plus years received special recognition at the ceremony. Please note that records do not properly reflect business start dates in some cases. As a result, the process is largely dependent on information the City receives through the nomination process.
