NKADD’s Emily Carnahan named Outstanding Young Planner by American Planning Association chapter


Northern Kentucky Area Development District’s Emily Carnahan was named the 2017 Outstanding Young Planner by the Kentucky Chapter of the American Planning Association at the organization’s Spring Conference.

During her two and a half years at the NKADD, Carnahan has administered the Community Development Block Grant for the Pendleton County Ambulance District, managed the Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan update and administered the Community Development Block Grant and Kentucky Infrastructure Authority loan for the Butler Water and Sewer Rehabilitation Project, among other projects. Carnahan is a Senior Community Development Specialist who also writes and administers grants, creates and updates government policies and operates the Northern Kentucky City/County Management Association.

The Outstanding Young Planner Award is given annually to an individual in his or her first five years in the profession who has demonstrated extraordinary commitment to leadership, professional development and advancement of the field.
