Talbert House celebration promotes committed fathers, celebrated Father’s Day at Sawyer Point


Greater Cincinnati families celebrated Father’s Day at Sawyer Point at Talbert House’s Seventh Annual Fatherhood Community Celebration. Thousands of individuals and families attended the free event featuring games and entertainment, arts and crafts, food and beverages, sports activities, and live music throughout the day.

Many volunteers and generous sponsors, including Performance Lexus and Midland Atlantic Properties, made this event possible and a great success. Food and beverages were supplied by Borden Dairy, Cincinnati Vending, Home City Ice, Kroger, LaRosa’s, Performance Food Service – Ellenbee, Skyline Chili, Sunny Delight, and United Dairy Farmers. The Home Depot provided crafts for children, and Shining Star AAU offered one-on-one basketball time with Dad.
 
Music was performed by BACKDoor, The Black Ties, and Deuces Musik.

Signing autographs were FC Cincinnati’s Aaron Walker and Mélé Temguia and former Cincinnati Reds players Ron Oester and Scott Williamson. Special guest appearances were made by Mr. Red and Mr. Redlegs, UC Bearcat, Who Dey and the BenGals, and Xavier’s Blue Blob.
 
Talbert House is one of the leading advocates for promoting fatherhood. Talbert House’s Fatherhood Project assists men in their efforts to be responsible, committed and nurturing fathers and is funded in part by the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood and United Way of Greater Cincinnati.

The event was co-chaired by John Silverman, Andrew Limke, and Taylor Uehlin.
