Northern Kentucky University Director of Athletics Ken Bothof announces the promotion of Debbie Kirch to Associate Athletics Director for Compliance and Academic Services/Senior Women’s Administrator, effective immediately.
“I’m delighted to announce Debbie as Associate AD for Compliance and Academic Services/SWA,” said Bothof. “Not only has our academic area seen terrific growth and success under her guidance, but Debbie brings a wealth of experience as a senior administrator and coach during her time at Green Bay.”

Kirch is entering her fourth year at NKU, having most-recently served as Assistant AD for Academic Services where she oversaw Northern Kentucky’s efforts in supporting its student-athletes’ academic endeavors.
During her tenure at NKU, Norse student-athletes have registered six-straight cumulative GPA’s above a 3.2 GPA, including a department record 3.28 last fall.
“I have really enjoyed my last three years in Northern Kentucky athletics,” said Kirch. “It has been great to see the Norse student-athletes and coaches achieve success both athletically and academically through their transition from DII to DI. I’m looking forward to continuing working with the athletics staff and student-athletes in a different capacity and continue to see the success and growth of our entire department in this community and in the Horizon League.”
Adding oversight of compliance and serving as the senior women’s administrator to Kirch’s responsibilities should also be a seamless process.
Kirch previously served as Assistant AD for Compliance and Academic Services/SWA at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay before coming to Northern Kentucky. Prior to moving to the administrative side at Green Bay, Kirch spent 16 seasons as head coach of the Phoenix’s volleyball program.
