The fifth annual Disability Empowerment Conference will be held from 2 – 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at the
Life Learning Center, 20 West 18th Street, Covington.
The Disability Empowerment conference was founded five years ago by Marie Braun, a former member of the Covington Human Rights Commission and longtime Northern Kentucky Disabilities Rights advocate.
Braun established the conference to provide people with disabilities information on housing, employment, public accommodations, financial transactions and transportation.
The program is free and open to the public.
Refreshments will be available. Vendors and collaborating organizations are asked to set up their tables at 1 p.m. at the Life Learning Center.
Presentations will be given on Oct. 11 on fair housing, employment and education. Continuing education units will be available.
