Kramer appoint to KBA Judicial Ethics Committee

The Board of Governors of the Kentucky Bar Association has appointed DBL Law partner David Kramer to a four-year term on the KBA’s Judicial Ethics Committee.

The Judicial Ethics Committee of the KBA responds to inquiries by Kentucky judges or judicial candidates regarding the ethical implications of their own prospective or ongoing conduct, and when an inquiry is posed of sufficient general interest and importance, the Judicial Ethics Committee can render a formal opinion in response to the inquiry.

Among other bar-related service, Kramer served on the KBA’s Board of Governors from 2008-14, and was a member of the Kentucky Supreme Court Civil Rules Committee from 2011-14. He practices primarily in the fields of civil litigation and health care law and chairs DBL Law’s Civil Litigation Practice Group.

Dr. Eric Mast named director at Union Institute

Dr. Eric Mast is the new Director of Student Services for Union Institute & University. Student services provide academic support for students ranging from tutoring to career development.

Dr. Mast joined Union in 2010 as an online instructor and assisted in the creation of the UI&U writing center. He has a B.A. in English from Northern Kentucky University, a M.A. in English from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, TX, and an Ed.D. from Union Institute & University.

His goals include reaching as many students as possible. “I want to make sure the services we provide help each student be successful academically as well as develop the skills that will help them be successful in life,” said Dr. Mast.  “Student Services are a vital piece of student retention.  We want students to interact with our services frequently and in a way that helps them be successful while they are with Union and also after they graduate.”

Governor appoint Winslow

Gov. Matt Bevin has appointed Kyle M. Winslow of Erlanger to the Consumers’ Advisory Council.

Winslow is an associate attorney at Hemmer DeFrank Wessels PLLC. He will serve for a term expiring Sept. 8, 2019.
