Covington’s Angie Gillespie is finalist in Opal Apples’ national contest for song about the non-GMO apples

Covington resident Angie Gillespie has been named as one of three finalists in Opal Apples’ nationwide SupercrispiOpalicious contest. And you have a chance to vote for her.

The contest invited fans across the country to create and perform an original song dedicated to the naturally non-browning, non-GMO apples.

Contestants, who come from all corners of the country, were required to use the words “sweet,” “crispy,” “crisp,” “crunch”, “crunchy”, and/or “yellow” in a one-minute video that included a visible Opal Apple. Finalists were chosen on account of their creativity and originality by an Opal Apples panel of Judges.

Angie Gillespie is up for the Grand Prize Win: a trip for two to The Big Apple.

The NYC Grand Prize features four-days and three-nights accommodations at The Kimberly Hotel, two Broadway show tickets, and one $1,200 pre-paid gift card for trip expenses and more. The first prize winner will receive a $500 gift card and the Runner-Up will receive $250.

The public is invited to view and vote for a Grand Prize Winner now through April 14.  Winners will be announced April 18. For more information on the Opal Apples SupercrispiOpalicious contest, including prize details and to vote for Angie here .
