Fort Mitchell will add two honorees to its ‘Wall of Honor’: John P. Hehman and Edgar McNabb

Fort Mitchell will add two distinguished citizens to “Wall of Honor” with a ceremony and reception on Monday, May 28 at 11:30 a.m., at its City Building.

John Hehman

John P. Hehman, and Edgar McNabb were named by the selection committee to receive this recognition.

“The Wall of Honor is the highest honor that is given to a citizen, volunteer, employee, or people who have had a great impact on the City’s growth and success,” said Mayor Jude Hehman. “This has been an incredible celebration and tradition that is bestowed on individuals who have truly made Fort Mitchell a success.”

John P. Hehman started with the City in 1980 as a life squad volunteer. He spent his entire career serving Fort Mitchell in various capacities, working his way up and retiring as Assistant Fire Chief.

Edgar McNabb

“John was dedicated and did a great job for the City and is well deserved for this special honor,” said former Mayor Tom Holocher.

Edgar McNabb, referred to as “Mr. Beechwood,” started at Beechwood during WWII and after seeing great potential in both academics and athletics, he stayed to coach and teach social studies for 43 years. Beechwood Board of Education named the athletic fields after him and inducted him into the Beechwood Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010.

The Wall of Honor was created to honor and recognize outstanding individuals who have unselfishly and diligently served the City of Fort Mitchell based on service to the city and community organizations, length of service in various capacities, and how their work has benefitted the community. Once someone has been nominated and selected, for this worthy recognition, Lewin Monuments engraves his or her name on the granite wall in front of the City Building.
