Skyler Ewing homered and drove in five runs to lead the Florence Freedom to an 8-3 win over the Schaumburg Boomers on Wednesday at Boomers Stadium.
Ewing smashed a three-run homer in the first inning to give the Freedom a 3-0 lead. It was Ewing’s 10th homer of the season.
Harrison White went 3-for-5 and scored three times for Florence, while teammate Keivan Berges hit his ninth homer of the season.
Jordan Kraus went 5 2/3 innings and scattered nine hits to pick up the win.
Florence, which defeated Schaumburg in the opener on Tuesday night, goes for the three-game series sweep on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
