The Duke Energy Children’s Museum, Chocolate: The Exhibition and GUITAR: The Instrument That Rocked The World will reopen to the public on November 2.
November 17 is the anticipated public opening of Union Terminal’s grand Rotunda, historic spaces, Holiday Junction featuring the Duke Energy Holiday Trains and the first phase of new permanent galleries: the Museum of Natural History & Science’s Dinosaur Hall and Cincinnati History Museum’s Public Landing. The Duke Energy Children’s Museum, Chocolate: The Exhibition and GUITAR: The Instrument That Rocked The World will also be open.
Union Terminal is nearing the completion of the first full structural restoration in its 85-year history.
The two-and-a-half year, $224 million restoration will preserve the legacy of the National Historic Landmark and secure the future of Cincinnati Museum Center housed within.

As I’m now 88 and my parents took me to the grand opening of the Union Terminal I question the 85-year completion. All I remember was the model train setup, but I could have been only three…My father worked for the railroads at the terminal and its predecessor for many years. Visiting the terminal as an adult I think I seem to recall that the murals on the ceiling were done by artists hired and paid by the WPA, but again I could be wrong. At 88 my memory isn’t as good as it was.
