On a day in which Thomas More University honored its seniors in the home finale, it was junior quarterback Justin Post who led the Saints to a 44-0 victory over Lake Erie College.

Post completed 18 of 26 passes for 203 yards and three touchdowns on Saturday as Thomas More improved to 7-2. He also rushed seven times for 80 yards.

Thomas More built a 27-0 halftime lead behind a pair of Post touchdown passes and scoring runs from senior running backs Hjavier Pitts and Luke Zajac. Pitts, who entered the game with 1,209 yards this season, added 93 yards on 20 carries in his final appearance at BB&T Field.

Zajac finished with 83 yards on 14 carries for the Saints, who gained 480 total yards and held the visitors to 143 yards. Lake Erie, an NCAA Division II program, dropped to 0-10 this season.

Thomas More receiver Darrell Crenshaw finished with four catches for 45 yard and a touchdown, while teammate Da’marco Canty added four receptions for 40 yards and a touchdown.

Junior linebacker Cody Coffey had eight solo tackles, including one tackle for a loss and one forced fumble, to lead the Thomas More defense. Junior defensive back Thomas Williams added eight tackles (five solo/three assisted), while freshman linebacker Peyton Van Horn finished with eight tackles (five solo/three assisted), including one tackle for a loss.

It marked the first-ever meeting between Thomas More and Lake Erie in football. The Saints — who blanked St. Scholastica by a 35-0 score two weeks ago — also collected their second straight shutout and have not allowed a score in eight quarters.

Thomas More is now 50-6 all-time at BB&T Field, which opened in 2008 as The Bank of Kentucky Field.

The Saints close out the season Nov. 10 when they travel to Collegeville, Minnesota, to play nationally ranked St. John’s University. That kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
