EBI, LLC celebrate graduation of inaugural class of Life Skills Training and Trade Certificate program

Enzweiler Building Institute (EBI) has announced the successful graduation of its inaugural class from the Life Skills Training and Trade Certificate Program, marking a milestone in the institute’s commitment to excellence in skilled trades training and the Life Learning Center’s (LLC) impact on those they serve.

EBI’s collaboration with LLC cements a powerful alliance for the benefit of tradespeople and the community at large. The graduation event was held last week at LLC, located at 20 West 18th Street in Covington, where 13 individuals and those close to them celebrated the convocation of certificates.

The inaugural graduates of the EBI and LLC partnership have undergone an intensive 13-week program, blending hands-on construction knowledge with comprehensive life skills, positioning them as work-ready individuals. The program’s unique approach, tailored to meet the needs of those seeking entry into employment opportunities empowers graduates with a robust beginning to enter the construction industry with the sector’s needs of tens of thousands of new workers in one of the region’s most in demand employment areas.

The program was created from the support of Kenton County Fiscal Court through a grant funded by the American Recovery Plan Act. Funds go to provide tuition, costs associated with instruction as well as support of Life Learning Center’s programming.

“We are immensely proud of our graduates and the synergies formed through our partnership with Life Learning Center,” said Brian Miller, executive vice president of the Building Industry Association of Northern Kentucky, and president of the Enzweiler Building Institute. “This collaboration goes beyond traditional education and skilled trades training; it’s about equipping individuals with the tools they need for a successful and fulfilling life. We believe that investing in both technical and personal development is key to empowering our graduates to make meaningful contributions to the construction industry and the community at large.”

“The partnership between Life Learning Center and Enzweiler Building Institute has proven to be an invaluable collaboration,” said Alecia Webb-Edgington, president and CEO of Life Learning Center. “This past week, it was truly inspirational celebrating the first graduates of the Life Skills Training and Trade Certificate Program. By combining Enzweiler’s 13-week skilled trades program with our Foundations for a Better Life transformational skills program, we are ensuring the success of these graduates and supporting a growing workforce in the trades industries.”

The success of the inaugural class is not only a testament to the dedication and hard work of the graduates but also underscores the effectiveness of the partnership between EBI and Life Learning Center. The collaborative effort between these two institutions has provided students with a holistic educational experience, combining technical proficiency with essential life skills.

LLC’s contribution to the program extends beyond skilled trades training to offer a supportive environment that nurtures personal and professional growth. Graduates have honed interpersonal skills, resilience, and a strong work ethic.

The EBI and LLC partnership serves as a blueprint for future initiatives aimed at empowering individuals with a comprehensive skill set and a strong foundation for personal growth. For more information on the Life Skills Training and Trade Certificate Program, visit buildinginstitute.com.
