Covington Neighborhood Collaborative, CovCivic to host City Commission candidate forum Oct. 3

On October 3 voters in Covington will have an opportunity to hear directly from candidates running for the Covington City Commission.

The forum, organized by Covington Neighborhood Collaborative (CNC) and CovCivic, aims to provide the community with an opportunity to learn more about the candidates and their platforms, policies, and visions for the City.

“This is one of the most competitive elections for City Commission in a decade. We believe this forum is essential for voters to make informed decisions,” said Greg Paeth, treasurer of the Covington Neighborhood Collaborative. “It’s a chance to hear firsthand from those who seek to represent us and to hold them accountable on the issues that matter most.”

All eight candidates for the Covington City Commission have been invited to attend the forum, ensuring a comprehensive and informative discussion on the key issues facing the community. Each candidate will get time for an opening statement, be presented with the same questions, and be allowed a timed response. No questions will be taken from the audience.

CNC surveyed community groups ahead of the event to identify issues important to voters that will be highlighted at the forum. Some topics expected to be included are housing, parking, and the ballot initiative for a new form of government.

The forum will take place at Madison Avenue Christian Church on Thursday, October 3, from 5:30-7 p.m. and will be moderated by Lucy May, Host of ‘Cincinnati Edition’ at WVXU.

The event is free and open to the public, with seats available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The forum will be broadcast live by TBNK on Altafiber 814, Spectrum 185, the TBNK Facebook Page, through the TBNK free iPhone and Android apps, as well as on the TBNK live feed at tbnk.org.
