The Cincinnati International Airport held a press conference recently to announce area development projects supported by a $20 million appropriation by the Kentucky state legislature.
Funds will go toward several projects on the CVG campus, including Hangar Row. The 350-acre plot of land is located south of the airport terminal and next to the longest runway on site.
The dedicated space will serve as a repair and maintenance area for planes flying in and out of the international airport.
The Boone County Fiscal Court has also secured federal funding through a RAISE grant that will go toward improvements to surrounding infrastructure, most notably the Limaburg Road area.
The $2.9 million grant will cover the design and environmental portions of the project.
The County is currently in the process of finalizing the agreement with the Federal Highway Administration and will soon begin surveying and detailed environmental assessments, which includes determining any stream, wetlands or archaeological impacts of the project.
