The DBL Law group hosted their exclusive Signature Women’s event last week. The invitation-only event connects businesswomen in the Northern Kentucky area who excel in their career fields and demonstrates the true meaning of girl power.
This event, held this year at Fort Mitchell Country Club, allowed women to network, build relationships, and offer support. This year DBL Law took another step in supporting girl power by teaming up with I Have Wings Breast Cancer Foundation by providing the ladies in attendance a special piece of jewelry purchased to support the foundation.
“Professional women deserve a way to blow off steam and network in a way that’s authentic to them. It’s also important for them to have a time where they can switch off and just enjoy an afternoon with friends and colleagues,” said Erica Almquist, marketing and business development coordinator at DBL. “DBL attorneys understand this just as much as anyone in the community and they feel it’s important to create and present these opportunities for women of all professional backgrounds.”
I Have Wings Breast Cancer Foundation supports women of all ages, denominations, and incomes with support during their battle with breast cancer by helping to lift the financial burden a family can experience during a mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, or friend’s breast cancer journey.
This year some of the women and women-owned businesses that took part in the event were:
• Molly Wellmann, a bartender and cocktail mixologist in the greater Cincinnati area and host of the Cincy 5’oclocktails podcast. Molly mixed up the cocktails for the ladies at the event and drove her mission of making it safe for women to drink in Cincinnati.
• Ivy Costa, owner of Ivy Costa Wardrobe Consulting and styling firm and a co-owner Sloane Boutique, the first all-women-owned clothing store in Over-the-Rhine. Ivy gave guests at the event a personal styling demo.
• DJ Holly K – Holly Morgan with Hubbard Cincinnati has been working as a radio personality for more than 25 years at B-105, Q102, and Mix 94.9. She had the tunes flowing for this event.
• Julie Niesen, owner of BRIDEface since 2020. BRIDEface is a professional make-up and beauty company that specializes in glamming women up for those special events in life. Guests at the event got the experience of getting glammed themselves by BRIDEface’s top-rated beauty team.
• Diane Haase, owner of TruffleMe, a gourmet truffle shop in Northern Kentucky founded in 2017. TruffleMe! currently has 13 year-round flavors but Diane is always baking up some new fun flavors. Diane brought her amazing truffles to the event for all the ladies to enjoy.
“This event is more than a gathering; it’s a powerful catalyst for community engagement and professional growth among women who are leaders in their fields,” said Betsy Weber, a DBL Law partner. “As we look to the future, we remain deeply connected to what matters, continuing to build pathways that support, inspire, and elevate the professional journeys of women across the Tri-State area.”
This event really gave the women in attendance the opportunity to be pampered, something most of them do not get to experience very often because they are so busy with their professional careers and everything else that women take on in life.
Janice Way, president of Leadership Kentucky, said, “It was a great time, wonderful women, and a tremendous example of DBL’s continued support for the NKY community.”
DBL Law has received positive feedback from their attendees this year that this event is “the one day during the year that they get to relax.”
Nicole Fenyo, executive director of the European American Chamber of Commerce, said, “What an extraordinary and completely unexpected experience. I’m truly somewhat baffled but so incredibly grateful.”
Erica Almquist, who was excited to work on this event for the first time this year, said “Our DBL attorneys really wanted to provide an even playing field for networking and a safe space for professional women to blow off some steam. A lot of professional individuals do this with golf, others crave a different method. It’s also an opportunity for them to feel pampered as they usually are the ones juggling a million tasks at once in their everyday lives.”
DBL Law is already looking forward to next year’s Signature Women’s Event.
