September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month.
Everyone knows the library helps people save on books, but there are so many more ways to save with a Kenton County Public Library card:
• Borrow tools from the library.
• Stream or download movies, shows, music, audiobooks and ebooks.
• Receive live homework help online.
• Learn arts and crafts skills with project DIY videos through Creativebug.
• Get help with your job search through our Career and Jobs Services Department.

Anyone who lives in Greater Cincinnati can receive a Kenton County Public Library card. You need your ID or a piece of mail with your current address. Children need their guardian’s signature. People are often surprised that they do not need to live in Kenton County to have a KCPL card. We suggest everyone in the area have a card for each system since each system has varied services.
“We encourage children to have their own library card,” says Dave Schroeder, the Kenton County Public Library executive director. “Having their own card teaches them responsibility, gives them access to our online resources for children and provides a love for the library. Children are always excited to get their first library card.”
In honor of National Library Card Sign-up Month, KCPL is hosting a library card sign-up day on September 14 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at all three Kenton County Public Library branches. We intend to break our previous record of 120 cards issued in one day. As an extra incentive, anyone who receives their card that day, or checks out items, will receive a keychain wallet while supplies last.
Everyone will want to ensure they have a valid card before September 16. The library has partnered with Strike and Spare in Erlanger to offer a Library Day.
Library Day @ Strike and Spare – Erlanger
Monday, Sept. 16, 4-9 p.m.
Show your Kenton County Public Library card to receive a wristband good for one game of bowling and unlimited bumper cars, roller skating, time freak, virtual roller coaster and laser tag. Each person must show their physical or digital library card. The library will have a staff member at Strike and Spare from 4-6 p.m. issuing library cards.
