In recognition of Hunger Action Month, Kroger associates will donate shelf-stable products and Kroger gift cards to FIESTA (Families, Inclusion, Education, Society, Tradition, and Access) NKY, a grassroots organization dedicated to addressing the needs of the fast-growing Hispanic population in Northern Kentucky.
The donation will support the organization’s on-site emergency food pantry and other essential services offered to the community.
Today, Kroger associates, led by the company’s Environmentally Conscious Outcomes Associate Resource Group with support from KePasa, Kroger’s Hispanic and Latin Associate Resource Group, will deliver the product to FIESTA.
“This critical donation is just one of the ways our associates are inspiring change and making a difference in the tri-state region,” said Jenifer Moore, corporate affairs manager for the Cincinnati/Dayton division of Kroger. “We are grateful to our associates for their passion to support FIESTA NKY and the families it serves.”
Hunger Action Month is an annual nationwide month of action to spread awareness and encourage everyone to join the movement to end hunger. According to Feeding America, more than 47 million people in the U.S. face hunger, including 1 in 5 children.
Kroger is committed to supporting healthy, thriving communities through the grocer’s signature Zero Hunger/Zero Waste impact plan that emphasizes the unique role Kroger plays across the food system as an employer, food processor, retailer, healthcare provider and more.
From now through September 30, customers can join the season of giving by rounding up their purchases to the nearest dollar amount at checkout to benefit local Feeding America affiliated foodbank.
