The list has been compiled annually since 2013 by The Bourbon Review’s editorial board. The editorial team combs through various establishments they’ve visited and written about across the country and leverages feedback from followers on social media to curate the list. Bars make the list for having the most expansive whiskey lists, mixing the most exciting cocktails, selecting the best single barrels, and having teams of hardworking, passionate, and knowledgeable staff.
This year, the Title Sponsor of the list is The B-Line®, a unique bourbon experience in Northern Kentucky, perfect for bourbon enthusiasts and bourbon-curious visitors alike. Comprised of seven official Kentucky Bourbon Trail® distilleries, nine bourbon bars, and nine bourbon-centric restaurants, visitors can pick up a B-Line guide and passport at any location and visit just two distilleries, two bars, and two restaurants for a chance to receive FREE B-Line swag.
“Northern Kentucky’s bourbon culture is booming and each of the 20 bars selected for The Bourbon Review’s list this year has added some unique charm to that culture,” said meetNKY President and CEO Julie Kirkpatrick. “These establishments and their incredibly talented and knowledgeable staffs have helped attract thousands of visitors to our region and contributed significantly to the nearly $9B bourbon industry in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.”
Bourbon enthusiasts are invited to join meetNKY and The B-Line® in celebrating National Bourbon Heritage Month throughout September. The month-long celebration recognizes bourbon’s role as America’s “Native Spirit.”
