Tatjana Andracenko’s first season on the Dixie Heights girls golf team will end with her competing in next week’s state championship tournament. The sophomore tied for second place in a state qualifier on Wednesday to advance to the season finale.
Andracenko shot 1-over 74 in the qualifier at Shelbyville Country Club. She finished two strokes behind Louisville Sacred Heart sophomore Keira Yun, who took medalist honors with a 1-under 72.
Both golfers made the turn at 1-over 37. Yun shot 2-under 35 on the back nine with four birdies and two bogeys. Andracenko was even-par on the final nine with two birdies and two bogeys.
The other individual qualifiers for the state tournament included Cooper senior Reagan Ramage (75), Ryle junior Anika Okuda (77), Brossart senior Emma Laker (84) and Notre Dame senior Didi Jiradamkerng (85).
Ramage placed fourth on the leaderboard. She entered the qualifier tied for first place in the girls all-state point standings, but four birdies on her scorecard were offset by two double-bogeys and two bogeys.
This is the sixth consecutive year that Ramage has made it to the girls state championship finals. The Western Kentucky University recruit was named first-team all-state after placing fourth last year and fifth in 2022.
Okuda placed sixth, Laker tied for 15th and Jiradamkerng tied for 17th to earn return trips to the 36-hole state tournament to be played Oct. 10-11 at Bowling Green Country Club.
The top three team scores in the qualifier were 304 by Louisville Sacred Heart, 351 by Owen County and 356 by Louisville Assumption. They will be part of the nine-team field for the state tournament.
Ryle was fourth and Notre Dame was sixth in the qualifier team standings. All of the team and individual scores are posted on the golfgenius.com website.
