The Fischer Group officially broke ground on its new corporate headquarters at 525 Scott Street in Covington on Wednesday, marking a major investment in the future of Northern Kentucky and the continued growth of one of the region’s leading homebuilders.
The site was once home to First District Elementary School and has been extensively remodeled over the last several years.

“This project is about more than a new building, it’s about bringing our people together in a space that reflects who we are and where we’re headed,” said Tim McMahon, CEO of The Fischer Group. “Covington is an important part of the future we’re building, and we’re excited to invest here while creating a headquarters that supports the next phase of our growth.”
Company leaders were joined by local and regional officials, including Covington Mayor Ron Washington and Kenton County Judge-Executive Kris Knochelmann, along with development partner Guy van Rooyen, to celebrate the start of construction.
“Today’s groundbreaking is a powerful statement about Covington’s momentum,” said Washington. “The Fischer Group’s decision to invest in our downtown is a clear signal that our urban core is on the rise. Not only does this project strengthen our local economy by bringing hundreds of high-paying jobs into the heart of our city, but it also reinforces that Covington is a destination for innovation, talent, and opportunity.”

The project will transform and expand the existing building, adding three additional stories to the north end and another story above the current gym. Once complete, the headquarters will grow from approximately 65,000 to 95,000 square feet, representing an estimated $15 million investment.
“This project is a great example of what can be achieved through strong partnerships,” said David Spaulding, President of Acendion Collective. “Working closely with Guy van Rooyen and his broader team, we’re focused on delivering a thoughtful and well-executed transformation.”
Construction will be managed by Acendion Collective, part of The Fischer Group.
The company expects to relocate approximately 400 employees to the new headquarters, with completion anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2027.
The Fischer Group’s flagship homebuilding brand, Fischer Homes, is the largest homebuilder in the Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and Louisville markets, and a leading builder in Dayton, Columbus, Indianapolis, St. Louis, Atlanta, Northwest Florida and Raleigh.
