The Giving Voice Foundation has announced its Mimosas for Memories fundraising event raised a record $164,627 to support its free community programs for local older adults living with Alzheimer’s and dementia and their caregivers.

More than 320 people gathered Satruday for the derby-style brunch event at The Cincinnati Club to raise awareness and funds for critical Giving Voice Foundation programming available across the Tri-state. GVF works to create a dementia community where no one feels alone by building connections to support those diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia and their care partners.

All the funds raised through Mimosas for Memories directly support Giving Voice Foundation’s free, innovative local initiatives created to support our aging community including music and movement programs like Creative Connections, Music in Motion, Dancing to Remember, a ballroom dancing program, and Brains in Bloom, a floral arranging program. Giving Voice also offers planning, journaling and peer support programs for caregivers.

“We are humbled by the continued commitment and care shown by everyone who joined us for Mimosas for Memories this year,” said Christian Gausvik, MD, founder and president of Giving Voice Foundation. “We have yet another milestone, raising a record-breaking amount while fostering meaningful, honest conversations around a deeply personal and often difficult topic. These funds will directly support local individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia, allowing us to expand our programming and continue offering it free of charge.”

About one in nine Americans ages 65 and older has Alzheimer’s, and more than 151,000 older adults across the Greater Cincinnati area are affected by this life-altering diagnosis. Giving Voice Foundation is addressing and creating awareness for this great local need, providing no-cost programs and support for those dealing with memory loss.

The Giving Voice Foundation is reminding the community to save the date for the next Mimosas for Memories, set for April 24, 2027. Tickets will be available early next year at mimosasformemories.com. Learn more about Giving Voice Foundation at givingvoicefdn.org.
