Kentuckians with insight on how to make the state’s foster care system better and improve outcomes for families and children are invited to participate in one of the June community forums, hosted by Citizen Foster Care Review Boards (CFCRB).
The forums are part of legislation passed in 2018 to address challenges within the foster care and adoption systems.
The four June forums, titled “Child Welfare in Action,” will focus on barriers to family reunification, gaps within the child welfare system and community needs. Anyone interested in child welfare is encouraged to attend, especially biological and foster parents, relative and fictive kin caregivers, former foster youth, child advocates and community leaders. To protect confidentiality, individual cases will not be discussed.
