Letter to the Editor: Reader objects to ‘lecture’ from official about early warning system

(Re: NKyTribune story on the Kenton Mayors’ group and discussion of tornado warning system.)

Editor:

I appreciated that you ran this article. However, I have beef with Steve Hensley’s comment that “It’s important for people to take a little effort to protect themselves and their families.”

Both my husband and I have Code Red. Neither my husband nor myself received any notifications from the service at all during Wednesday night’s/Thursday morning’s tornado(s)/storms.

And this was hardly the first time that Code Red completely failed us.

More often than not we receive no notifications from it at all. It is unreliable, and I would appreciate it if Mr. Hensley took some time to ensure that the service worked properly before lecturing anyone on using it.

Just my two cents.
