The Kentucky State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting Friday night in Crestview Hills that left a 37-year-old Kenton County man dead.

According to KSP, officers with the Lakeside Park-Crestview Hills Police Department were assisting the Cabinet for Health and Family Services at a home on University Circle when Daniel Bolinger exited the residence armed with a knife and confronted officers shortly after 11 p.m.
Officers fired their service weapons, striking Bolinger. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kenton County Coroner’s Office. No other injuries were reported.
The investigation remains ongoing. KSP, which investigates officer-involved shootings at the request of law enforcement agencies across Kentucky, said no additional details will be released until witnesses have been interviewed and critical evidence has been gathered.
