The Northern Kentucky Area Development District (NKADD) is inviting residents, businesses, community organizations, and local leaders to help shape the region’s economic future by participating in a series of public surveys as part of the development of the 2027 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS).
The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) is a locally developed, regionally driven plan that guides economic development across Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen, and Pendleton counties. The strategy identifies regional strengths, challenges, and opportunities while helping guide investments that support job creation, infrastructure, workforce development, business growth, and long-term economic prosperity.
As the U.S. Economic Development Administration’s (EDA) designated Economic Development District (EDD) for Northern Kentucky, NKADD develops and maintains the CEDS through a collaborative planning process that engages local governments, businesses, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and residents from across the region.
Community participation is a critical part of the planning process. To gather broad public input, NKADD has launched three community surveys that will help identify regional priorities, evaluate community needs, and collect potential projects for inclusion in the CEDS.
The surveys include:
• Primary Survey – Collects baseline feedback on the region’s strengths, challenges, opportunities, and overall economic development needs. Approximate completion time: 15–20 minutes. arcg.is/1WHPzr4
• Priorities Survey – Asks participants to identify the priorities that should receive the greatest regional focus over the next five years. Approximate completion time: 15 minutes. arcg.is/1qe50z1
• Projects Survey – Invites participants to identify projects in each of the eight-counties in the NKADD region that support economic development and could be considered as part of the CEDS implementation strategy. Approximate completion time: 10–15 minutes. arcg.is/0qTf182
All three surveys are open to anyone who lives or works in Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen, or Pendleton County. NKADD encourages residents, businesses, local governments, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and community partners to participate and share the surveys throughout their networks to help ensure diverse representation from across the region.
