Teen entrepreneur Brooke Sweeney to showcase award-winning business at Bellevue Farmers Market

At an age when most teenagers are enjoying summer break, 15-year-old high school sophomore Brooke Sweeney is growing a business she built from the ground up.

Brooke, founder of Oats Elevated, will be among the featured vendors at the Bellevue Farmers Market on Sunday, July 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bellevue Beach Park, where she’ll share her line of healthy, convenient overnight oats and the entrepreneurial journey behind them.

Brooke launched Oats Elevated at age 14 with a simple goal: create nutritious, great-tasting overnight oats made with clean ingredients that fuel active lifestyles. Since then, she has developed recipes, helped build the brand, sold directly to customers at markets and pop-up events, and earned first place in the X Squared Student Pitch Competition.

A lacrosse player and JV team captain, Brooke credits her passion for health and wellness with inspiring the business. She hopes her story encourages other young people to pursue their ideas and discover what’s possible through hard work and determination.

“What inspired me to start was realizing I didn’t want to choose between something that tasted good and something that was actually good for you,” Brooke reflects. “I wanted to create a breakfast that felt elevated: clean ingredients, strong nutrition, and flavors people genuinely crave.”

The Bellevue Farmers Market features local farms, food producers, artisans and small businesses, offering visitors an opportunity to shop locally while enjoying the scenic waterfront at Bellevue Beach Park. Brooke’s story is an example of the diverse entrepreneurs’ visitors will meet throughout the market.

The Bellevue Farmers Market is free to attend and takes place on Sunday, July 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bellevue Beach Park, 643 Frank Benke Way. In addition to local vendors, the market features family-friendly activities and community organizations.
