1,500 people came together for 2026 Cincinnati Festival of Faiths, declared a success

There was a special energy in the Cintas Center in early August as nearly 1,500 people from across Greater Cincinnati came together for the 2026 Cincinnati Festival of Faiths.

Hundreds of exhibitors, performers and volunteers representing faith traditions and communities across Greater Cincinnati filled the space. Throughout the afternoon, people shared traditions, asked questions, listened to one another’s stories, discovered new perspectives, enjoyed music and performances, and, perhaps most importantly, simply spent time being together.

In the new exhibitor village, volunteers described the joy of watching people from different faiths talk, laugh, and learn about one another’s traditions with curiosity and openness.

“The Festival demonstrated what EquaSion can make possible when people choose curiosity and connection across difference,” said Mike, Board Chair of EquaSion. “We are incredibly grateful to the faith communities, volunteers, exhibitors, performers, sponsors and partners who made this year’s Festival possible.”

Attendees described the Festival as an “enlightening experience,” “very well organized” and “the best yet.”

More than 95% of those surveyed said the experience positively impacted their understanding of different faiths, while more than 91% said they felt a sense of belonging at the Festival. Both exhibitors and volunteers gave high marks on their overall experience.

One attendee described her experience, “It was lovely! next year I plan on arriving earlier so
I can hear the speakers.”

A volunteer who enjoyed her shift echoed the sentiment, “I talked with visitors and listened to their stories. It was an enlightening experience.”

An exhibitor praised the event’s design, noting, “The space was more inviting for walk-bys and
interaction with other guests.”

The Festival is a reminder that our lives are enriched, our perspectives expanded, and our community strengthened person by person, through conversation, shared experiences, and the willingness to sit down and listen to someone whose life may look different from our own. That spirit is at the heart of EquaSion’s programming, “Compassion in Action; Unity in Diversity” was more than a theme, it was something participants experienced with each other in their own ways.

Looking ahead to 2027

The energy created at this year’s Festival is already carrying forward into the year ahead. That momentum is especially meaningful as the Cincinnati Festival of Faiths looks toward its 10th anniversary in 2027.

EquaSion is building on the connections made through the Festival and programming between Festivals, including its “Faith and Friendship” groups, where participants can continue getting to know one another and deepen relationships across differences. One attendee has already launched a book club centered on the Portraits in Faith book to remain actively connected in the community throughout the year.

In a time when division can often dominate the headlines, EquaSion and the Cincinnati Festival of Faiths create spaces where people can encounter one another with openness and discover the humanity we share. By prioritizing curiosity, empathy, and meaningful dialogue, these efforts do more than just educate, they knit together the diverse fabric of Greater Cincinnati, proving that when we choose to learn from one another, we build a stronger, more resilient, and more welcoming community for everyone.
