Boone County residents looking to get rid of old tires can bring them to the County’s Waste Tire Collection Event, Thursday, Aug. 20-Saturday, Aug. 22.
The free event will be held at the Boone County Recycling Center, 3275 Maplewood Drive in Burlington.
It provides residents with a safe, convenient way to dispose of unwanted tires while also helping prevent illegal dumping in our community.
The event will be open:
• Thursday, Aug. 20 from 8 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
• Friday, Aug. 21 from 8 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
• Saturday, Aug. 22 from 8 a.m.–12 p.m.
Accepted items include:
• Tractor tires
• Passenger tires
• Semi tires
• Bicycle tires
• Motorcycle tires
• Golf cart tires
• Side-by-side tires
• Go-kart tires
Tires may be on or off rims, and rims are also accepted without tires. The following will not be accepted:
• Foam-filled tires
• Calcium-filled tires
• Off-road construction tires
• Tracks
• Solid tires
Tire retailers, scrap or salvage yards, recycling businesses and other businesses are not eligible to participate.
The Waste Tire Collection Event is held in partnership with the Kentucky Department of Waste Management.
