The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce announced the 44 high school students selected for the incoming 2027 Regional Youth Leadership class, representing 34 schools across the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area.
This year’s class marks the 33rd year of the NKY Chamber’s signature youth leadership program.
The mission of Regional Youth Leadership is to cultivate the leadership skills of local high school students to bolster the retention of talent to our region. The experiential nature of the seven-month program promotes personal growth and fosters development of leadership skills such as communication, teamwork, and decision making. Sessions are held monthly, and throughout these sessions, participants will be introduced to a variety of topics including local government and economic development, arts and culture, human services, health, law, life skills, and leadership.
Students were selected through an extensive application process that included a minimum GPA of 3.0, a demonstration of leadership potential in their school and/or community, and an interest in furthering their knowledge about the region and community leadership.
“Regional Youth Leadership offers high school students a valuable chance to learn from local leaders who are making a real difference and get immersed in multiple topics that are important to our region,” said Ann Marie Whelan, director of leadership at the NKY Chamber. “We look forward to welcoming this next class into the program and seeing how they take the skills and lessons learned throughout the sessions and turn them into meaningful change.”
