As part of New Horizons, Pilot’s $1B+ investment in upgrading its travel center network nationwide, the Walton Pilot location has completed a comprehensive curb-to-counter transformation. To celebrate the reopening and reinforce its commitment to uplifting the local community, Pilot is donating $10,000 to GO Pantry.
Through modern upgrades and enhanced amenities, the remodel is designed to offer every guest a more seamless and elevated experience.
“We are excited to welcome the Walton community back into an updated travel center that has been reimagined from the ground up,” said Sam Edgmon, vice president of operations business development at Pilot. “We want our neighbors and travelers alike to know they can count on us for the resources they need to stay fueled, refreshed and lifted up for the journey ahead.”
Key updates to the travel center located at 11229 Frontage Road include:
• Revitalized store interior with a fresh, modern design
• New hot and cold deli area with crave-worthy, grab-and-go options
• Three self-checkouts for a faster, more convenient shopping experience
• Refreshed restrooms and showers for added comfort
The $10,000 donation to GO Pantry will support its GO-Bags program, which provides weekend backpack meals.
“Working with schools across Northern Kentucky, GO Pantry will distribute weekend GO Bags to more than 1,400 kids each Friday during the school year,” said Laura Dumancic, co-founder and finance manager of GO Pantry. “The kids we serve receive breakfast and lunch from their schools, and weekends bring uncertainty for kids struggling to find consistent access to food. GO Bags provide both staple food items and a sense of security for the kids receiving them. We are grateful for community partners like Pilot who help GO Pantry bridge the food gap for local kids in need.”
The Walton travel center is among the first locations in the nation to feature Pilot eats Express. Pilot’s new proprietary craveable meal options include convenient, grab-and-go classics like artisan pizza, chicken wings and tenders and snackable sides.
