The City of Ludlow and local businesses are preparing for a busy October filled with community events, live music, family activities, local shopping, history and Halloween celebrations throughout the city.
The month’s lineup includes Ludlow Fall Fest, an outdoor showing of Hocus Pocus, live performances at local businesses, Rail Sessions and a Chili Cook-Off, a special river history program, a family Halloween event, the 3rd Annual Ludlow’s Nightmare on Elm Street and citywide Trick-or-Treating on Halloween night.
“October is a great example of the kind of community activity we want to continue building in Ludlow,” said Mayor Sarah Thompson. “There are opportunities throughout the month for families, neighbors and visitors to gather, enjoy our public spaces, support local businesses and spend time in our community.”
October Events in Ludlow
• Saturday, October 3, 4–8 p.m. — Ludlow Fall Fest
C.P. Reeves Market, 109 Helen Street
Fall Fest returns for its second year with food, local vendors, games, raffles, contests, face painting, beer and live music. This year’s event also includes a Pumpkin Roll and Corn Shucking Contest. Live music begins at 4 p.m. and features Christian Glass, Gary Bertsch & The Blamers and Tyler Moore.
• Saturday, October 3, 8:30 p.m. — Hocus Pocus Outdoor Movie
H. Gordon & Thelma S. Martin River Stage at Memorial Park.

Following Fall Fest, the community is invited to continue the evening at the riverfront with an outdoor showing of Hocus Pocus.
• Friday, October 9, 7 p.m. — Adam Lee Live at Ludlow Vinyl & Tap, ticketed show with limited seating.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the show beginning at 7 p.m.
• Sunday, October 11, 1 p.m. — Sunday Series at Secret Sister

The free performance will feature Noah Wotherspoon with special guest percussionist Erich Reith. Guests may bring their own beverages and chairs. Seating is limited.
• Wednesday, October 14, 6–9 p.m. — Rail Sessions + Chili Cook-Off
Ludlow Heritage Museum Campus, 49 Elm Street
The community celebration will feature live music, vendors, Touch-a-Truck and a Chili Cook-Off where attendees can taste and vote.
• Friday, October 16, 6 p.m. until dark — History, Down By The River
Ludlow Memorial Park, 600 Elm Street
The Kenton County Public Library will present an evening exploring the legends, mysteries, disasters, crimes, hauntings and unforgettable characters connected to the Ohio River.
Special guest speakers include Micha O’Connor, Greg Hand, Sean Andres and Molly Wellmann, with Jacob Hogue serving as emcee. Registration is required.
• Friday, October 16, after dark — History, Down By The River After Party
Ludlow Vinyl & Tap, 243 Elm Street
Following the riverfront program, attendees are invited to continue the evening at the official after-party hosted by Ludlow Vinyl & Tap.
• Saturday, October 24, 4–7 p.m. — Family Halloween Event
49 Elm Street
Families are invited to enjoy an afternoon and early evening of Halloween activities before the nighttime festivities continue in the business district.
• Saturday, October 24, beginning at 6 p.m. — 3rd Annual Ludlow’s Nightmare on Elm Street
Historic Ludlow Business District
Participating businesses will offer adult trick-or-treating, live music, drink specials, pop-up shops, festive tattoo flash events, shopping and sales, tarot readings and additional activities throughout the evening.
• Saturday, October 31, 6–8 p.m. — Ludlow Trick-or-Treating
Throughout the City of Ludlow
Ludlow will close out the month with traditional neighborhood Trick-or-Treating on Halloween night from 6–8 p.m.
October’s events span Ludlow’s riverfront, historic business district, Heritage Museum campus, neighborhood gathering spaces and local businesses, offering residents and visitors multiple opportunities to experience the city throughout the month.
