Horizon Community Foundation helping address region’s housing shortage with strategic fund

Staff report

The NKY Home For All Fund, a regional initiative led by Horizon Community Foundation of Northern Kentucky, will help address our region’s housing shortage and expand access to housing for people across income levels.

In 2024, more than 90 community leaders and experts came together to identify solutions to Northern Kentucky’s housing challenges. Their work helped shape the Home For All Report, a blueprint outlining strategies to address housing needs throughout our region, according to Nancy Grayson, president and CEO of Horizon.

In early October the Northern Kentucky Housing Convening brought together elected officials, real estate professionals, planners and others to discuss attainable housing practices and explore ongoing intiatives and priorites.

The needs in the region for housing — for people of all income levels — continues to be critical.

Today, the NKY Home For All Fund is helping turn those strategies into action. Initial investments will support the operations of the NKY Housing Fund, launched by the Catalytic Fund in January 2026, with additional regional strategies to be supported as they develop.
