John Schickel is running for a spot in Boone County Fiscal Court as a Commissioner.
John is well versed in public service. Many years ago he worked as a deputy and as a jailer. More recently he represented Boone County as a State Senator in Frankfort.
During this time I got to know him well. John was a representative of the people of our state and he never lost sight of that responsibility. I found that John was not only open to questions and discussions but eager to hear constituent viewpoints. He personally invited me to the Capitol to sit in on discussions of policies.
As Boone County grows and stress is put on our infrastructure, we need to elect approachable people who will represent our population and have the quality of life and safety of our community in the top of their mind.
John is also well known for his support of those less fortunate through his fundraising for Special Olympics at his “Picklefest.”
I can also say that it is comforting to know we would have someone representing us who loves the Lord and uses the bible as guidance.
