Lowe’s is opening a new store next month to serve one of Northern Kentucky’s growing communities.
Lowe’s of Walton, located at 12100 Towne Center Drive, includes roughly 95,000 square feet of retail space plus 30,000 square feet of outdoor garden area. It is Lowe’s 43rd Kentucky store and the first to open in the state since 2009.
Travis Caldwell, a Lowe’s veteran of 28 years and a Florence native, has been named store manager.
“I have lived in this area my entire life, and I’m so excited to continue my Lowe’s career here in Walton,” said Caldwell. “We want to be great neighbors and the place people know they can turn to when they need help with a project.”

The store includes all of Lowe’s latest in-store updates, blending physical showrooms with online features to provide customers with everything they need in one place, including project planning and expert advice.
Lowe’s of Walton will be among the first Lowe’s stores to debut a redesigned tool section with a simplified open layout, wider aisles and lower fixture heights that create better sight lines for both customers and associates. Product categories are reorganized to create more intuitive product adjacencies, making it easier for customers to get all the DeWalt, Craftsman and Kobalt tools they need for related solutions and projects.
With nearly 3,000 new housing units approved for construction across Boone County over the past three years, according to U.S. Census data, local builders and Pros are staying busy. Lowe’s is helping them save time on estimating, quoting and sourcing materials with connected, tech-enabled tools. AI-powered Material Lists converts handwritten notes, photos, spreadsheets and other supported file types into quote-ready orders in minutes, while Blueprint Takeoffs help Pros generate material lists and estimates directly from project plans. Pro Extended Aisle expands product availability and order quantities far beyond what Pros see on store shelves, and direct-to-jobsite delivery from participating suppliers helps Pros get the materials they need where they need them.

Standard in all new stores, Lowe’s of Walton has a redesigned kitchen showroom with features including:
• Centralized selling desks for installation and services projects, with larger signage showcasing promotional offerings
• Larger selection of attainable luxury appliances and kitchen products to support remodels
• Larger, more interactive product displays, including bathrooms, wet bars, laundry rooms and mud rooms
• QR codes providing customers easy access to explore online offerings, as well as links to online tools including a style quiz, budget calculator and 3D visualizer, providing a 3D rendering of your potential project
Lowe’s new kitchen showroom is standard for all new Lowe’s stores and is being introduced to a limited number of existing stores in 2026.
Lowe’s of Walton is hiring for more than 100 full and part-time positions Candidates can visit talent.lowes.com for more information.
