Boone County deserves a leader, not a politician. When I look at the communities that make up Boone County, I don’t see Republicans or Democrats and I don’t see political lines of division – I see hard working people, just trying to make their tomorrow better than their today.
I see friends I grew up with, teachers and business owners that mentored me; and community legends who inspired me to lead. When I look at Boone County, I see much more than politics.
I want our county to continue being a great place to live and work for all citizens. I believe I am the most qualified and most dignified candidate in the race to become your next Judge/Executive. If we truly want to move forward, we must focus on local issues; not national politics.

We have a landfill in our county – the owners want to expand it – and one of my opponents has taken thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from its owners. We must stand against the expansion of the landfill, and we must stand against big business owners who want to buy our elections.
Citizens who work in our county; teachers, police and our Fire & EMS workers are quickly losing their ability to afford living in our county. We have roads in urgent need of repair, and traffic congestion which crowds our roads for long periods of the day. We have homeless children, who don’t know where their next meal is coming from – or when it will come.
All things considered – the last thing I’m interested in is politics.
In the coming four years, Boone County needs a leader who will shoulder with our citizens and make difficult decisions – not a politician who refuses to make his priorities known.
As Judge/Executive, I will be visible in our communities, working with any citizen who wishes to be a part of making Boone County a better place to live and work. There will be times when we disagree, but I will always listen to you, the citizen.
We will repair our roads, work with Real Estate Professionals to encourage real, affordable housing within our borders, and we will work with our schools to make sure they have the equipment they need to keep our children safe. As a Republican candidate for Governor, and an Experienced Security Professional, I proposed School Safety plans that would protect our students. As Judge/Executive, I will work with our business community and Law Enforcement leaders to get the job done for Boone County’s Students and teachers.
I will use my position and my voice to stand against unwanted development, and I will work with our city and county leaders to ensure every citizen, from Walton to Rabbit Hash; from Florence to Burlington, feels the positive impact of genuine Boone County leadership.
I know a politician when I see one, and my opponent plays the part well. The truth is – this isn’t a game and I’m not here to play cowboy for the cameras. I’m running to be your Judge/Executive because I love Boone County, I’ve lived here over 30 years, graduated from Boone County High School, and seven generations of my family have put their blood, sweat and tears into Boone County’s soil.
I’m not a politician; I’m just a guy from Florence who wants the best for his neighbors, his family and his friends.
We can’t afford to sit this election out.
We can’t afford to waste our vote on a politician.
It’s time to lead.
William E. Woods is a Write-In Candidate for Boone County Judge/Executive on November 3.
